Klaus Leidorf is a German photographer, who loves to spend a lot of time riding a Cessna 172 aircraft above German airspace, taking aerial shots below. He refers his work to as ‘Aerial Archaeology’.
In this series, which began in the late 1980s, is a fascinating study of landscapes, and looks closely at how humans have transformed the world around us, often with frightening consequences. Using image-stabilization technology and his trusty Canon EOS Mark III, Leidorf is able to capture the teeniest, tiniest detail, even when he’s soaring far above the earth.
