A floral-printed dress (knee length), a shawl (red or pink), artificial flowers in your hair (three, at a minimum), but most important of all, of course, was the unibrow, more than 1,000 people came to a Dallas museum dressed as Frida Kahlo as part of an attempt to set a record. The Dallas Museum of Art says more than 5,000 people attended the celebration Thursday night marking the 110th birthday of the artist. To help people out, the museum provided a team of makeup artists to assist the wannabe Fridas with their look. The event took place on July 6, 2017.
The world record attempt was part of “Frida Fest” a day to celebrate all things Frida. The program was planned in conjunction with the museum’s blockbuster exhibition México 1900–1950: Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, José Clemente Orozco and the Avant-Garde, which closes July 16, 2017.
